Douglas Ridge Rifle Club Membership

Douglas Ridge Rifle Club exists for the membership and we welcome new members. Our membership is rapidly growing. We do our best to process new applications quickly, but we do have a limited capacity per membership class, so once you apply the process can take some weeks. We have a thorough application and orientation process, so it is important that you carefully read and follow the information on this page. Please read the entire page before starting the application process.

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION CLASS: Once your application is reviewed and approved, you will receive an email confirming your scheduled orientation date. You will be touring the entire range on your orientation day, so please make sure to dress appropriately. RAIN OR SHINE we make the tour!

JOIN DATE: Your official join date will be the date of your New Member Orientation class. Failure to attend your scheduled orientation will result in delayed access to the club pending completion of a new member orientation. NRA MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED: All members of DRRC are required to be a member of the NRA. To verify NRA membership, include original or copy of the label from your NRA magazine or a copy of your NRA membership card. If not currently an NRA member the NRA assessment fee will be used by DRRC to acquire an NRA membership on your behalf. NO EXCEPTIONS. You don’t like the NRA? Please chose another club.

MEMBERSHIP CARD: Each member with an access card (Senior and Family Associate) is required to have a photo ID membership card. Regular associate and junior members will be provided and non photo membership card. Regular associate members may have a photo ID membership card upon their request. Junior members will not be given a photo ID membership card.

MEMBERSHIP YEAR: Our membership year is from July 1st – June 30th. All new member applications are prorated so all annual membership renewals occur at the same time.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL BILLING CYCLE: Regardless of when you join all member renewal statements are mailed in early May. Membership renewals payments are due by June 30th and are considered late if not paid by the July membership meeting (first Thursday in July). Dues received after the July membership are subject to a $10.00 late fee.

WORK HOURS: All senior members are expected to put in at least 8 hours a year of volunteer service to the club. There are many easy ways to do this including, maintenance days, helping at Hunters Sight-In, volunteering to help at various matches, etc. A $200.00 work hour fee will be assessed if verifiable work hours are not recorded by a predetermined date for the previous year. Assessment begins with first renewal cycle after joining the club in July-April.

FAMILY MEMBERSHIP: Includes senior member ($200.00), associate member (spouse) ($75.00 + $5.00 access card deposit), minor junior members (no cost). Provides gate access card for associate. Associate must attend new member orientation. All other fees and assessments apply.

REGULAR ASSOCIATE/JUNIORS: Regular associate (spouse) and junior members may only use the club while accompanied by a Senior Member, except as noted at events otherwise open to the public. Must be under 18 years to qualify as a junior.

Membership Requirements & Procedures

Step 1

Apply

We prefer that you apply and pay the initiation fee online. However, if you are unable to apply online, please download the Douglas Ridge Rifle Club membership application form and mail it in with only the $100 initiation fee. Acceptable payment methods are check, money order, or cashier’s check. Please do not send cash by mail. The remaining dues and fees will be collected at your orientation class.

Step 2

Your application will be reviewed.

Step 3

You must show proof that you can legally own a firearm.

Applicants are REQUIRED TO PROVIDE COPY OF either CHL, Recent firearms transfer, or FBI Identity History Check for consideration of membership. DRRC no longer processes background checks for potential members. BRING THE FORMS TO THE NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION CLASS.

Step 4

You must be a member of the NRA or pay the NRA assessment. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO NRA PROOF = PAY $45.00

Step 5

Approved senior member and family associate member applicants must attend a new member orientation prior to using the facilities. Regular associate and junior members are encouraged to attend the orientation.

Step 6

Upon receipt of application, the club will notify approved applicants via email of the date and time of their new member orientation. Orientations last 4 hours and include time to take your picture for your photo ID membership card.

Step 7

Club handbook, bylaws, and membership cards will be provided at the new member orientation.

APPLICATION FORM: Print, fill it out, and send it in with payment, but please make sure we can read it. If we cannot read your handwriting, your application will not be processed.

PAYMENT METHOD – Acceptable payment methods are cash, check, money order, or cashier’s check. Do not send cash by mail. It is preferred that you apply and pay your initiation fee online.
