Adult Small Bore
Small bore rifle shooting is one of the disciplines in the shooting sports. Small bore shooting typically utilizes rifles chambered in .22 Long Rifle at ranges generally of 100 yards (91 m) or shorter. Depending on the range, it can either be conducted indoors or outdoors.
At Douglas Ridge Rifle Club, the Adult Small Bore Rifle Team competes against other teams within the Columbia Willamette Rifle League (CWRL). The competitions are based on .22 cal., NRA 4-position, in-door, 50 ft. matches, firing 10 shots at each in prone, sitting, kneeling, and standing using A-17 targets. Eligible juniors are encouraged to participate in the adult class. Please also see our Junior Rifle Small Bore page.
Equipment:
- .22 cal single shot rifle, preferably a position style. Club rifles are available.
- Low velocity ammunition
- Shooting jacket
- Rifle sling
- Kneeling roll
The small bore league is seasonal, with matches in December through May. Matches are held Friday nights beginning at 5:30 PM. The current CWRL format is Postal, so all matches are held at our home range. CWRL league fees are $10.00, payable up front. DRRC team dues are an additional $10.00.
