About DRRC

DRRC is a non-profit volunteer organization. We are governed by the membership-elected Officers and Board. The club operates under a set of bylaws. The Officers are President, Vice President, Secretary, Executive Officer, and Treasurer. There are six Board Member positions.

The Officers and Board Members serve for a 2-year term. A Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) oversees the Range Safety Officers (RSOs) who are responsible for supervising safety at events and the range in general. There are additional positions and committees that assist operating the facility that the members can serve on.

Board meetings and general membership meetings are held monthly at the clubhouse and are open to all members. General membership meetings are usually held on the first Thursday of the month, and the Board meetings are usually on the last Thursday of the month. Check the calendar for changes to this schedule.

Individual shooting disciplines are organized and directed by Discipline Directors who are approved by the Board and in charge of scheduling, organizing, and running the matches. They are aided by Range Safety Officers to ensure that all range activities are conducted safely. Most disciplines conduct matches monthly. Please refer to the discipline page for more information on the shooting events at DRRC.

There are several ways that DRRC communicates to the membership and community. The monthly Board and general meetings are a great way for members to stay up to date on club business and activities. A monthly newsletter is published to the membership. The club also uses social media as a communication platform.

As a member-supported and volunteer organization, part of each member’s responsibility is to contribute some of their time and energy each year to maintaining and improving the club. This can be accomplished by volunteering to serve as an Officer or Board member, serving on one of the committees, helping at club events, or coming to the weekly or annual workdays.

Our members come from all walks of life and have a broad and diverse range of talents. Volunteering educates members about the facility and exposes them to new things at the club. It is also a great way to meet new people and create long-lasting friendships.

DRRC is committed to promoting a safe environment to enjoy the shooting sports. Adherence to the safety rules and instructions is strictly enforced. We have a responsibility to ensure that all members, guests, and the neighbors are not put at risk. We also strive to be good stewards to the environment. We have spent millions of dollars on infrastructure and programs to protect and preserve the grounds and waterways.
